Testimonials
Testimonials in the profession of Therapy can be tricky given the power dynamics, and the influence I have with my clients. It is in a grey area in terms of ethics as it can hamper the therapeutic relationship. As an alternative, here are some photos and testimonials from my students that I have taught psychology over the course of years. These spaces are not confidential, however, are sacred for me and them. It is with consent from these individuals, the photos and testimonials are being uploaded.

This was a safe space and I learnt the following things:
- it is okay to have conflicts and we should hold a space to let one be
- the emotions are okay to be felt and to express
- one can always be kind and willing to see other person's perspective
- body language, tone of voice, and choice of words matters the most
- addressing everything always helps instead of letting it be/sliding it under the rug

Take aways by me could be:
-Validation: Others sharing similar experiences can make help us to relate and feel that we are not alone.
-Perspective: Different perspectives helped me to see a broader aspect of a problem and helping me find different ways to think about a problem.
-Empowerment: building connection which I clearly appreciated and want to take back with me.

The space has challenged me to come out of my comfort space. I am usually very reserved and it takes a lot of energy for me to open up. However, I ended up not engaging a lot in class but it has always made me try to think to be open. I sure know one thing, that I have a lot to say and it’s better if I put my input out as well. At least in the future. Apart from me, bringing the focus to the lecturers, the key take away from all the classes, were, that I learnt something new and it always peaked my interest to know about individual interests and beliefs which takes place in a group. I now tend be a little more open, to the people I interact with, because what I may think people might not understand and vice versa. I understood that I need to be more clear while I communicate with a friend or a stranger.

You created an environment of peace, where disagreements were seen as tool for growth, unlike how it's normally weaponized. It was also good for reflecting our choices and exploring different ideas and viewpoints. The sessions also facilitated a space for me to revisit certain aspects of who I am without feeling like I'm going to go down a rabbit hole of emotions. I'm very grateful for learning how to manage certain things in my life through incorporating some of the things you shared or did in the sessions

The most I liked about the space was how honest it was. We were allowed to be ourselves, say whatever came in our minds and nobody judged us for it. If anything we found people who had same thoughts and feeling as us. I also liked how it was facilitated, the facilitator’s honesty and calmness was being reflected in the group.
